The Bodytite Procedure
BodyTite focuses on skin tightening for moderate loose skin. During your consultation, you and your surgeon will discuss if BodyTite is the right treatment for you. The BodyTite device has two probes connected to a handpiece. After the anesthesia has taken effect, your surgeon will make a small incision in the treatment area and insert one of the RF-transmitting probes.
The other probe will glide along your skin’s surface. As your doctor moves the handpiece, radiofrequency energy will flow between the probes, generating heat that liquefies fat cells, causes the collagen fibers in your skin to contract and tighten, and boosts collagen production over time. What is the difference between BodyTite and traditional liposuction?
The BodyTite allows your plastic surgeon to reshape and tighten different areas of the body without the visible scars and prolonged downtime associated with traditional liposuction surgery, thanks to the use of advanced radiofrequency energy.
How will I look & feel after my procedure?
You can expect to go home immediately following your procedure with no sutures and resume regular activities shortly after. We typically advise that you avoid aggressive workouts for two weeks, but normal activity and walking are encouraged. Although swelling will be minimal, we still ask our patients to wear a compression garment for at least two weeks for the best results.
No special skin care regimen is required but you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a good sunscreen. Following the procedure you will have an improved contour and much tighter skin that looks and feels better. The repair and healing process takes three to six months and contours will continue to improve over time.
You’ll experience swelling, bruising, or numbness immediately after BodyTite, but much less than what may be experienced after traditional liposuction or a tummy tuck. Your results can be seen immediately but will continue to improve over three to six months. If a conventional surgical procedure is performed in addition to BodyTite/FaceTite – RFAL, then that procedure will determine the recovery.
