All About Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Orange County

The Brazilian butt lift (sometimes also known as a “BBL”) is a type of butt augmentation that is performed using your own body fat, which has been harvested via liposuction from a surrounding area (arms, flanks, abdomen, etc) to lift, add volume, and reshape your glutes without the use of synthetic surgical implants. This more natural alternative has the added benefit of slimming and removing unwanted volume from the waist and nearby regions, creating a more desirable, hourglass-like hip-to-waist ratio.

At CosmetiCare in Newport Beach, a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure can help to restore your self-esteem, leaving you looking and feeling your best. Many of our patients love the ability to show off their figures in bathing suits or at the beach, and we’re confident that you’ll absolutely love the way you feel after this procedure. Creating the Curves You Deserve

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical procedure that augments and provides contour to the buttocks and outer hips. Unlike a traditional butt implant or butt lift, the Brazilian Butt Lift utilizes your body’s own fat cells, which will be harvested via liposuction in order to fill in and reshape the buttocks region as desired. The use of your own fat offers a more natural alternative to synthetic butt implants.

In addition to the creation of a more curvy, rounded butt, the Brazilian Butt Lift has the added benefit of removing unwanted volume from the waist and nearby regions, creating a more desirable hip-to-waist ratio. Our patients love the “two-in-one” benefits that come with this procedure, and we encourage you to reach out and set up your consultation to learn more about how we can help you.

The Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

Before the day of your surgery, your doctor will give you an exact idea of what you can expect from your Brazilian Butt lift experience. No two patients are the same, so your surgery will be customized according to your figure and goals, but the general process tends to remain the same.

Step One

Liposuction will be used to harvest unwanted fat from your thighs, abdomen or lower back area.

Step Two

The surgeon will then sterilize these fat cells, purifying and preparing them for injection.

Step Three

The fat is then carefully injected into your buttocks and surrounding areas in small amounts until the ideal look is achieved.

Your BBL Recovery Process

The recovery period after a BBL varies between two and six weeks, but you should plan to take 10 to 14 days off work. Most patients find that pain can be controlled through prescribed pain medication and will subside after about a week. Because your skin will be numb, you mustn’t use ice or a heating pad around surgical sites to avoid burning the skin. Avoid vigorous exercise for the first month of your recovery.

During your consultation, one of our board-certified plastic surgeons will discuss the procedure, outlining recovery, healing, and realistic expectations so you leave well-equipped to make the best decision. We’ll ensure that you have a clear idea of your recovery timeline, and we’ll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions so you can enjoy total peace of mind as you look forward to your impressive results.

Enjoying Your Final Results

You will notice more volume immediately, however, it can take up to four months to see your full results once the swelling from the surgery and liposuction dissipate.

Had my BBL done with Dr. Von Maur and he was just as wonderful as the rest of the staff. Great people, very caring and I'm only 4 days post-op but I am already loving my results. I truly recommend this office due to the wonderful staff and services!

How much does Brazilian Butt Lift cost?

Starting Price of a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) at CosmetiCare in Newport Beach is $9,000. This includes two areas of liposuction.

Your Brazilian Butt Lift price will depend on the number of areas where your surgeon will perform liposuction to harvest the fat to then inject for the BBL. This, coupled with surgeon and anesthesiologist fees will make up all costs associated with your BBL procedure.

We offer up to 24-month financing options to help our patients pay off the cost of their procedure over time. In just minutes, you can apply here to see what you are pre-qualified for before your consultation.

How long until I can sit after Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?

For the first two weeks, you’ll need to avoid any activity – like sitting – that applies direct pressure on your butt as it can cause the newly injected fat cells to die. This two-week period allows enough time for adequate blood supply to develop so the fat graft can take.

Will insurance cover Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?

Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is considered cosmetic surgery, so it is not covered by insurance.

If cost is of concern, we offer financing options to help our patients pay off the cost of their procedure over time. In just minutes, you can apply here to see what you are pre-qualified for before your consultation.

How long will my Brazilian Butt Lift results last?

The fat cells that remain after about four months of recovery will be there permanently.

To keep your BBL results long term, we recommend maintaining your weight post-surgery. Fluctuations in weight can impact your results: drastic weight loss will slim your new butt down, while weight gain can also alter your newly sculpted proportions.

What will my scars look like after Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?

Brazilian Butt Lift scars are minimal. You’ll have scarring from the tiny incisions made for liposuction, usually with underwear or bathing suit bottoms easily concealing.

CosmetiCare offers comprehensive scar treatment solutions. During your consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons, they’ll discuss the recovery and healing process and how to minimize scarring post-procedure.

How will I look and feel afterward?

After a Brazilian Butt Lift, you will look slimmer and more defined in the areas where your fat was harvested. Your buttocks will look rounder, perkier, and more voluminous providing an appearance of youthfulness and robustness.

The average recovery time is around two weeks and you will be recommended to not sit directly on your buttocks during that time. Strenuous physical activity and exercise should be avoided for three to four weeks after surgery. You will typically be able to return to work and average daily routine in less than two weeks.

Some patients may experience bruising or swelling, which will subside within three to four weeks after the surgery. The injection sites are typically less than a centimeter wide and will be slightly more noticeable in the first few weeks. Any scarring caused by these injections will be easily concealable with most undergarments and clothing until fully healed.

What else do I need to know?

The results of the Brazilian Butt Lift are immediately noticeable, however, it will take a few weeks for swelling to subside and for your body to fully heal. You can expect roughly 60-70% of the fat injected to remain, while the rest will be naturally absorbed and eliminated by your body.

Due to this reabsorption, some patients will be injected with a slight excess of fat to ensure that the remaining fat retains enough volume. The rate at which your body heals is mostly dependent on your lifestyle and overall health.
