While having my liposuction surgery, I also had the doctor perform a Co2 laser resurfacing procedure. I had wanted to have a Co2 laser done for many years, and I figured that since I would already be recovering from liposuction that it would be a good time to recover from a laser.

My results from the Co2 laser were amazing. Most of my wrinkles diminished and the discoloring of my skin that I had developed during pregnancy completely disappeared. To have the best results from the procedure, it is important to properly care for your skin for the weeks following the surgery.

The doctors at CosmetiCare had recommended that I purchase the Alastin Skincare Procedure Enhancement System. I fell in love with the brand so much that I still use it for my skincare product six months later, and I will probably always use it on my face.

After the procedure, I came home with a gel on my face. The doctors told me to leave it on my face for the first 24 hours, and the nurses removed it when I came in for my 24-hour follow-up. Once I had the gel removed from my face, I was advised to wash my face gently two times a day. I would then use the Alastin Nectar, Clindamycin antibiotic ointment, hydrocortisone 1%, and the Alastin Recovery Balm. I was also able to use Ibuprofen for the small amount of discomfort that I experienced.

I also was able to use ice packs on my face and had to sleep elevated for the first 24 hours.

24-48 hours following the procedure, my face appeared red and sunburned, and then I developed a pixel texture and flaking 3-5 days following the treatment. Following the treatment, it is essential to avoid sun exposure for the first 12 months! To achieve optimal results this essential. Whenever I am in the sun, I apply the Alastin Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, I wear a hat, and keep my face covered as much as possible.

If you find that you are having any inflammation or discomfort you can use this mixture 48 hours after the surgery:

Mix 1 cup of distilled white vinegar (no apple cider vinegar) and 1 cup of cold water.

Soak gauze in the liquid and apply to the face. Leave gauze on the face for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove the gauze and do not rinse.

It can be done up to 4 times a day.
