One Week After Liposuction Surgery

One week after having my Liposuction surgery at CosmetiCare it was time to come in for my one-week follow-up appointment. I didn’t think that I would be off painkillers and driving after a week so I had to schedule my appointment around my husbands work schedule, and so I had to make it for one week and one day after my surgery. Little did I know that I would already be driving the kids to school, off painkillers and even packing school lunches!

When I arrived at CosmetiCare a week later, I was already feeling myself again, although I could feel that my body was telling me not to overdo it. My body feels stiff, a little hard to move and I definitely feel best when resting in bed while watching Netflix. But, Dr. Champion had advised that the more I move around, the faster I will heal, and she was right.

After arriving at the office, they took me back to a room where Dr. Champion happily greeted me. The only problem that I was experiencing is that body seems to be retaining a lot of the water that I have been drinking. Dr. Champion advised that I have a lymphatic massage to help with the water retention, and she provided me with the name of a massage therapist who would come to my home.

The nurse then helped Dr. Champion to remove my body suit and bandages to reveal my beautiful new body. The minute that I looked in the mirror, I was thrilled with the results, and Dr. Champion reminded me that it is not my final results. I won’t see the final results until the swelling and bruising go away in a couple more weeks.

My body has some serious bruising which looks 200x more scarier than it is. The bruises don’t hurt like a traditional bruise. Dr. Champion recommended that I start using arnica to help with the bruising and that it should go away in a couple of weeks.

One important thing that I am doing to help with my healing process and an important thing to do after tummy tuck is eating a low-fat diet. When they take out the fat cells from your body, they damage the ones that they left behind. Those fat cells are hungry for food, and it is more important than ever to make sure and starve them vs. feed them during the six-week healing process. Eating a 100% clean diet for the past week has helped a lot with my healing process and has given me more energy than ever before.

I am so happy with the results and can’t wait to come back next week to get my stitches out. Every day I am going to get skinnier and skinnier as the swelling continues to go down. I can’t wait to see my final results.
