So excited to share my experience with CoolSculpting at CosmetiCare with you all today. CosmetiCare is a plastic surgery and MedSpa center based in Newport Beach, California that offers a range of surgical and non-surgical treatments. After contemplating trying CoolSculpting for over a year due to mixed reviews from friends, I decided to finally give it a go.
I’ve been super insecure about my thick legs and bottom half since I was a teenager and have often thought about liposuction. I’ll be honest though, surgery is not for me! That’s why I was excited when I first heard about this non-invasive treatment that could help freeze the fat on my legs, thighs, butt and banana rolls.

What is CoolSculpting Treatment?
An innovative, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling and pressure to eliminate stubborn fat and contour your body that will not shrink through diet and exercise alone. No general/topical anesthesia or pain medication is needed and there’s no down time. You can resume normal exercise and activity immediately! You will start to notice results gradually over 2-4 months following the treatment and guarantees that it will remove 20-40% of the fat from the treatment area.
What was the CoolSculpting Procedure like?
The procedure was very quick and easy! I’m not going to lie, I was extremely nervous on the thought that I was about to be very cold and possibly in pain. My nervousness quickly dissolved during my consultation when I met Rosie Moore, the CoolSculpting Specialist at CosmetiCare. She was very sweet, attentive and answered all my questions perfectly which eased my anxiety. Rosie first had to check that I was a good candidate for this procedure by examining my entire body. Obviously, this treatment isn’t going to be for everyone! After touching my legs, she said my banana rolls and inner thighs were the perfect candidate (which I already knew they would be =) ) She then took my measurements, weight and a “before “picture of my body so we can see results down the road. On a normal basis after consultation, you’d go back for your first treatment but Rosie was kind enough to squeeze me in same day as I live very far from CosmetiCare. Here are a few tips they want you to know about how to prepare for treatment day:
1. Stop any medications that may thin your blood as bruising in treatment area is possible 2. Wear comfortable, loose clothes 3. Eat a light meal 4. Bring entertainment such as iPads, reading materials etc as treatments will vary from one to five hours.
There are two types of applicators (vacuum assisted and flat applicators) which may be used during your session. Rosie used the more common one on me, the vacuum assisted applicator that uses suction to draw the fat into the device. She placed one on each banana roll below my butt and explained the process thoroughly before starting so that I was comfortable and knew what to expect. The sensations felt like a deep, cold pulling and pinching but subsided over the short 35 minute treatment time. I actually fell asleep I was so comfortable! After removing the applicator, Rosie massaged my treatment area which felt slightly sore and bruised. I noticed how red the area was but after a few hours, all these sensations went away and the red subsided. I drove home as if nothing had happened.

I’ll be going back in 12 weeks for one more treatment and can’t wait to share more results with you all then. Hopefully I will notice a difference in just a few weeks!
