Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a consultation fee?

Yes, due to the popularity of our physicians we require a $150 consultation fee. If after meeting with our physicians, you decide this isn’t the best fit for you – you can transfer your $150.00 over to our state of the art Med Spa.

What is rhinoplasty (nose job)?

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries performed in the US. It is a popular option for patients unhappy with the size or shape of their nose. In addition to the procedure’s well-known cosmetic benefits, rhinoplasty has evolved to have much more versatile applications, such as to improve nasal function after a traumatic injury, or to help with breathing problems that affect sleep and the ability to exercise.

Can rhinoplasty fix my snoring or breathing problems?

A Rhinoplasty isn’t always about cosmetic. Many people have issues with breathing and their nasal passages and seek surgery to correct these problems. In fact, breathing complaints are a common reason why patients seek out a Rhinoplasty in Orange County, and it’s one of the few cosmetic surgeries which may be covered by insurance if the procedure is recommended for medical reasons. On occasion, this procedure may assist with snoring if related to breathing issues.

What is the recovery time?

7-10 Days. During the first few days, your face may feel puffy, and your nose will ache. Patients are encouraged to stay in bed with their head elevated during the first day. Swelling and bruising around the eyes in the first few days is normal. Cold compresses can help reduce the swelling. Bruising should disappear within two weeks. Most patients are out of bed within two days and able to return to school or work within a week. After one week all dressings, splints and stitches will be removed.

Activity should be limited for the first 3 weeks as recovery continues. After that time, you may resume regular activities. You should avoid rubbing your nose, blowing your nose, or sun exposure, for 1 to 2 months. Final results may take up to a year to be fully revealed and your results will be permanent (though in some instances age can change nose appearance).

What is the difference between an open vs. closed rhinoplasty?

The decision for open and closed is left in the hands of the surgeon. Each nose and desired outcome are unique the patient. In rhinoplasty, the bone and/or cartilage will be altered, and there are only two ways to access these structure of the nose – open and closed. During the closed rhinoplasty approach, 2 incisions are made within the inside of the nose. It is through these incisions that all alterations will be made.

An open rhinoplasty includes the same two incisions, but with one additional incision connecting the two, across the columella. That final connecting incision is called a trans-columellar incision, and it allows Dr. Niccole or Dr. Adair to open the skin of the nose – or unveil the nose. Depending on what the surgeon is trying to do, each approach has its advantages and disadvantages.

How long does it take to see results?

The average rhinoplasty patient doesn’t see their final results for up to 1 year. If you choose to get a nose job, it may take up to a year for you to see the results of your surgery. But remember, the healing and final results timeline varies from patient to patient.

Will it be obvious that I had a rhinoplasty?

Nose surgery results can range from very subtle to very dramatic. It all depends on your existing facial anatomy and what you’re hoping to achieve. A thoughtfully planned rhinoplasty can improve the look of your whole face. Most patients who undergo this surgery would like to look better without looking different. The overall goal of a rhinoplasty is for the nose to look natural and harmonious with the rest of your face.

How much does the procedure cost?

Rhinoplasty starts at $8,000 with Dr. Adair and $10,00 with Dr. Niccole. If the physician recommends a chin augmentation to balance your profile – the patient will only be required for the additional anesthesia and operating room costs. Physicians’ professional fees will be waived for the chin augmentation – a savings of $3,000.

How long does the procedure take?

Rhinoplasty generally takes approximately 3 hours and is usually an outpatient procedure. A small incision is made across the tissue between the nostrils as well as inside the nostrils. These incisions heal very well and are barely visible. If additional cartilage is needed to augment the nose, it is frequently taken from the patient’s nasal septum. In some cases, such as revision cases, this cartilage might be taken from an ear or rib.

Is financing available?

Absolutely! We work with Care Credit, GreenSky, and Alphaeon. All of these providers offer a variety of financing options including 0% interest on approved credit. There are also other options available including a payment plan over 48-60 months at a lower monthly fixed rate.

Can I drive home after my procedure?

We require that each patient has driver to get them home after their procedure. This is for your safety as you are given sedation medication during the procedure which may make it unsafe to operate a vehicle after your procedure.

Is there an age requirement for a Rhinoplasty?

The minimum age for patients to undergo rhinoplasty is 15 since the face is still developing prior to this age.
