CosmetiCare celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering free breast implants with any breast surgery and encouraging women to get screened.

“We strongly believe in Breast Cancer Awareness Month’s mission, and we want to help support it in any way we can,” says Dr. Michael Niccole, founder and Medical Director of CosmetiCare. “That’s why we’re running a promotion giving free breast implants to women undergoing any breast surgery. Women who have undergone a mastectomy and are as of yet undecided about getting breast reconstruction surgery now have a more affordable option.”

One-eighth of all U.S. women will develop some form of breast cancer during their lifetime, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest numbers show that more than 210,000 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in 2008. In that same year, more that 40,000 women died from the disease. Many of these deaths could have been prevented with early detection, one of the primary goals of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer can be devastating to both the women who suffer from it and their family and friends. Because of its seriousness, CosmetiCare is encouraging women to get screened and informed about the disease, risk levels, symptoms and treatment methods.

“While many women know about breast cancer, they don’t get screened because they either believe they’re too young to get it or they wait until they start showing symptoms,” says CosmetiCare plastic surgeon Dr. Sami Hamamji. “Though a woman’s risk of getting breast cancer increases with age, women of all ages can still get it. There is significant evidence that catching breast cancer in its early stages before symptoms start showing can increase the chances of survival.”

Survival and early detection is the primary goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Held annually, the campaign is organized by an international group of charities. It was founded in 1985 when the American Cancer Society partnered with the private sector to promote mammography as an effective tool for breast cancer detection. Since then, screening and treatment methods have advanced substantially. One of the most effective treatments is a mastectomy, or the removal of the breast. Where once it was a difficult choice for women to remove one of their breasts, advancements in breast reconstruction surgery have made the decision more acceptable.

“Our Orange County breast surgery patients choosing reconstruction benefit from techniques that have advanced to the point where a patient can regain the natural shape of her breasts,” says Dr. Burr von Maur, a plastic surgeon at CosmetiCare. “Surgery can help women heal both physically and mentally by giving them back something they thought they had lost.

Orange County breast reduction cost is dedicated to helping women regain their confidence, and we’re proud to be running our special promotion on breast implants.”
