While Ponce de Leon thought he found the fountain of youth in Florida, one Newport Beach plastic surgeon says it’s actually in a pen. The device, which resembles a fountain pen, “erases” years off of your appearance and eliminates acne and wound scars, fine lines, stretch marks and wrinkles while encouraging collagen production to plump up the skin, says board-certified plastic surgeon Michael Niccole, M.D., medical director of CosmetiCare.  The head of the “pen” contains dozens of fine needles that penetrate between the skin’s surface to rebuild elasticity and reduce the size of pores.  It’s virtually pain free and patients are seeing dramatic results in just a few treatments.   “As we age, the production of cells, collagen and elastin naturally diminish, which causes wrinkles, saggy skin and a hollowing effect. By using this latest advancement, the skin can be prompted to heal and repair itself,” said Niccole.  “For those with poc marks and other skin imperfections, this new technology really is a miracle.”   Niccole says that in the last 5 years, patients have been embracing non-invasive procedures over traditional surgery as the cost is lower, the change is more subtle, healing time is faster and the results are more natural looking. He says that the pen also may be used as a supplement to existing procedures in order to increase their effectiveness.    CosmetiCare has been helping patients achieve a youthful, natural appearance for more than 3 decades through a combination of state-of-the-art surgical procedures and the latest advances in nonsurgical techniques.  A portion of the revenue generated at CosmetiCare is donated to the Magic Mirror Foundation, a nonprofit that offers no-cost plastic surgery services to those in need including domestic abuse and accident victims, children from third world countries living with abnormalities, victims of bullying, breast cancer survivors and others in need of reconstructive surgery.
