I’ve mentioned a few times that I was considering more body-sculpting. An area that has been bothering me are the back of my arms. I have been covering them up with sleeves, and would like to wear sleeveless again if possible. I’ve had consultations at Cosmeticare, and a few weeks ago, I DID IT! I tried Coolsculpting®! I picked this procedure because it is non-surgical, FDA-cleared, effective, and the results are long-term. Coolsculpting works by delivering controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin. The fat cells are frozen then die. Over time, your body naturally processes it and eliminates it. Their Coolsculpting Specialist, Rosie Moore, welcomed me with a smile. Their staff is always super friendly and helpful. A gel pad and applicator is applied to the targeted area and the applicator uses a vacuum to draw the tissue into the applicator cup. I felt some pulling, tugging and a cold sensation. It wasn’t painful but slightly uncomfortable, because I had to keep still and couldn’t move. The procedure lasted 35 minutes. I was watching a movie on NETFLIX which helped pass the time. I tried to relax as much as possible, and if I could, I would take a nap.
Should I go in for one or two more cycles? Each application is called a cycle and depending on your area of need, you may need more than one treatment. I was advised I might need two total. It will vary from person to person depending on how much fat you want to get rid of so the best way to get answers is to schedule a personalized consultation. After she removed the applicator, I felt a little sore. You can see the redness in the photo below. She massaged the area, and later that day it eventually went away. There is really no down time, and it will continue to keep working up to six weeks. I’ll definitely write another post with before and after pictures.
