Past Research Projects (July 1999 –June 2000):
- University of Southern California (Cardiothoracic Surgery & Transplant Biology Research
Laboratory): An orally-bioavailable chemokine CXCR3-receptor antagonist inhibits cardiac
allograft rejection with Cyclosporin A in a rat allograft cardiac transplantation model: project headed under the advisement of Mark Barr, MD and Donald Kramer, PhD. Performed microsurgery including heterotopic cardiac allograft transplantation in rats, cardiac allograft harvesting, immunohistochemistry and analysis.
Current Research Projects:
One-stage Combined Breast Augmentation with Mastopexy: Retrospective analyses of
results in a single center, large series of primary and secondary surgical patients: project
headed under W. Grant Stevens, MD and David A. Stoker, MD, Marina Plastic Surgery
Associates.
“Extreme Asymmetry Corrected with One-Stage Breast Augmentation Combined with
Mastopexy: A Review of 40 Cases for Safety and Efficacy: Retrospective analyses of results
in a single center, large series of primary and secondary surgical patients: project headed
under W. Grant Stevens, MD and David A. Stoker, MD, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.
“Preoperative Indicators of Risk for Primary Breast Augmentation Combined with Mastopexy:
A Review of 186 Consecutive Cases: Retrospective analyses of results in a single center,
large series of primary and secondary surgical patients: project headed under W. Grant
Stevens, MD and David A. Stoker, MD, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.
Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center: Current Protocol for the Successful,
Surgical Management of Complex Pressure Ulcers: project headed under Salah Rubayi, MD,
Chief of Surgery, Chief of Plastic Surgery, Founder and Director of the Pressure Ulcer
Mangagement Service.
The Lateral Dermal ‘Bra-Flap’ for Breast Reduction in Women with Severe Macromastia: A
case-series review of an innovative, new surgical technique to aid with support of the inferior
breast pedicle as an ‘internal bra-type sling’ to improve results of large volume breast
reduction: Project currently in progress by Dr. Quardt.
