The Sculptra butt lift uses the same collagen-stimulating injectable used on the face to add subtle volume and improve contour through the buttocks and hips. There is no incision, no anaesthesia, and no fat harvested from anywhere else on your body.

How the Sculptra butt lift works
Sculptra is indicated for use in people with healthy immune systems for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles.
The cheek indication was added to Sculptra’s FDA approval in April 2023, on the strength of a study in which 94% of participants still showed improvement at both one year and two years after treatment.
What it realistically achieves
We would rather you hear this here than be disappointed later.
What a Sculptra butt lift does well
- Adds subtle volume and roundness
- Improves skin firmness and texture across the treated area
- Softens the appearance of hip dips and minor contour irregularities
- Requires no surgery, no anaesthesia and essentially no downtime
- Works for patients who are lean and simply do not have enough fat for a fat transfer
What it does not do
- It does not produce a surgical BBL result. Fat transfer moves substantial volume; Sculptra stimulates collagen. These are different orders of magnitude.
- It does not work in one session. Expect a series.
- It does not lift skin. If your primary concern is significant laxity, this is not the treatment and we will say so.
- It does not remove fat from anywhere else, which for many fat-transfer patients is half the appeal.
If you want a dramatic change in size and shape, a surgical option is the honest recommendation, and we perform those too.

Consultation
A board-certified plastic surgeon assesses your anatomy, your goals and your realistic result, and determines vial count. This is also where we tell you if a different procedure would serve you better.

Sessions
Sculptra is injected across the treatment area. Buttock treatment requires substantially more product than facial treatment — this drives both the number of sessions and the cost, and you will have the full figure before you commit.

Aftercare
A specific massage protocol for several days after each session, plus guidance on sitting, activity and exercise. Following it matters.

Series
Multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart, with the total depending on your starting point and your goal.

Recovery
There is no formal downtime. Most patients return to normal activity the same day, with strenuous exercise avoided for at least 24 hours.
Expect tenderness, some swelling and possible bruising at the injection sites. Lumps under the skin are a known risk with Sculptra and are the reason the aftercare massage protocol is not optional.
Sculptra butt lift cost
Sculptra is priced per vial, starting at $905 per vial at CosmetiCare. Buttock treatment uses considerably more product than facial treatment, so the total is meaningfully higher than a facial Sculptra plan.
You will receive a written total after your consultation. Financing is available for up to 24 months.

Sculptra FAQ
Is the Sculptra butt lift FDA approved?
Sculptra itself is FDA-approved, but for facial use. Use in the buttocks is off-label. Off-label use is legal and common in medicine, and we will discuss it openly at your consultation.
How long does a Sculptra butt lift last?
Sculptra results are documented to last up to two years, after which maintenance treatment can be considered.
How many sessions will I need?
More than one. The exact number depends on your anatomy and your goal, and is established at consultation.
Does it hurt?
Discomfort is generally moderate and manageable. Numbing is used, and the product contains lidocaine. Tenderness for a few days afterward is normal.
Will it give me a BBL result?
No. It produces a subtler improvement in volume, contour and skin quality. If you want a surgical-scale change, fat transfer is the appropriate procedure and we will tell you that directly.
Can I have it if I am very lean?
Yes — and this is one of its genuine advantages. Fat transfer requires donor fat. Sculptra does not.
Who should not have Sculptra?
Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, is under 18, has a known allergy to any component of the product, or has a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring. Treatment is also postponed at sites with active skin conditions.
