Hand Rejuvenation in Newport Beach
People guess your age from your hands more reliably than from your face — and unlike your face, your hands are rarely part of anyone’s skincare routine.
Hands age in a specific way. The fat pad on the back of the hand thins, so tendons, veins and knuckles that were once cushioned become prominent. The skin above them loses collagen and gets thinner and more translucent, which makes everything underneath show more. Injectable collagen stimulators restore that lost cushion.

THE PROCEDURE
Healing Downtime
None: mild bruising can be expected at injection sites
What hand rejuvenation achieves
- Restores volume to the back of the hand, so tendons and veins sit less prominently
- Improves skin thickness and quality over the treated area
- Softens the hollowed, skeletal appearance that comes with age
- Requires no surgery and essentially no downtime
What it does not address is sun damage — age spots, pigmentation and texture on the surface of the skin. Those respond to laser and light-based treatments, which we also offer and which are frequently combined with volume restoration for a better overall result.
What treatment involves
-
Consultation
Your surgeon assesses volume loss, skin quality and pigmentation, and recommends the appropriate product — or the appropriate combination, if surface treatment is also warranted.
-
Treatment
Product is injected across the back of the hand. The area is numbed first. Sessions are short.
-
Aftercare
Massage guidance and a short activity restriction. Bruising on the hands is common and visible; plan around anything where that would matter.
-
Duration
Radiesse results in the face are documented to last up to two years; safety in the hand has been established to one year. Your surgeon will set expectations for your specific plan.
The Five-Star Experience — You Deserve
You’re likely a great candidate for Sculptra in Newport Beach if you’re interested in addressing common facial concerns without any significant downtime or recovery period. Patients who require significant volume to achieve their aesthetic goals are the best candidates for Sculptra.
What to expect afterward
Most patients return to normal activity the same day, avoiding strenuous use of the hands for at least 24 hours.
Common side effects at injection sites include swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps. Hands bruise readily and the bruising is more visible than on the face — this is normal and temporary, but worth planning around.
Neither product is appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, under the relevant minimum age, with a known allergy to any component, or with a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring.
Cost
Hand rejuvenation is priced by product and quantity, established at your consultation. Sculptra starts at $905 per vial at CosmetiCare. Financing is available for up to 24 months.

Sculptra FAQ
Is Sculptra FDA-approved for the hands?
No. Sculptra’s FDA approval covers facial use. Using it on the hands is an off-label application. Radiesse is FDA-approved for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands.
Which is better for hands, Sculptra or Radiesse?
For most patients, Radiesse — it is approved for the indication and provides immediate volume as well as collagen stimulation. Sculptra can be appropriate in specific cases, and your surgeon will explain when.
How long do hand rejuvenation results last?
Depends on the product and the patient. Radiesse safety in the hand has been established to one year; facial results with both products are documented to last up to two years.
Is it painful?
The area is numbed beforehand and most patients tolerate it well. Tenderness for a few days afterward is normal.
Will it help age spots on my hands?
No. Injectables restore volume beneath the skin. Pigmentation and sun damage on the surface respond to laser and light-based treatments, which are often combined with volume restoration.
How soon can I use my hands normally?
Most patients return to normal activity the same day, avoiding strenuous use for at least 24 hours.
Who should not have Sculptra?
Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, is under 18, has a known allergy to any component of the product, or has a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring. Treatment is also postponed at sites with active skin conditions.
